  • Statue of Freedom  stab=nds 288 above the US Capitol Plaza in the top of the Capitol Dome.. On May 9th 1993 the statue was taken off of the Capitol for the first and only time so far and set on the East Capitol grounds for a repair to a crack in the bronze.  I was able to take a close up of the face that everyone had seen from afar for 130 years.  This image shows the statue f Freedom being rreturned to the top of the dome after it was repaired.<br />
