The Beatles played in DC the day after their appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show. They traveled by train from New York and were met by a large Cadillac Limo--one car that was it. They had a press conference and then headed to a hotel. I was tipped that they would stop briefly for a photo at the US Capitol.
